SEASON 2017 Continues... Round 16 v Strathmore

Our Reserves Thirds started their finals campaign with an emphatic win over Strathmore at Westmeadows and this set the pattern for the entire day as Aberfeldie recorded wins in all senior grades this past weekend.

The Under 19s enjoyed a massive win and hope to capitalise on their current success leadng into the finals series.  The Reserves continue on the road to finals with yet another win for the boys including the return of some players missing for several weeks due to injury or holiday. Well done!

The senior match was a very one-sided, team-oriented game and the eventual win was overshadowed by the impending loss of player Al Kefford who is heading overseas in the next week to live permanently in New York for work.  Congrats to Al, we know that up and leaving everything and everyone you love here in Australia would be enough to rattle the best of us but we are confident that he do well in his new role. All the Best!

The final score of the Premier Division match was Aberfeldie 13.20 (98) defeated Strathmore 7.12 (54) and Luke Blackwell was named as best player. In addition to that we were able to put our solid stamp of ownership on this game sending a clear message to Strathmore that last time they defeated us it was a sheer fluke.

This coming week the Reseve Thirds will participate in their Preliminary Final against Maribyrnong Park at Greenvale at 9:45am* on Saturday and we are being hosted by West Coburg at Shore Reserve in Pascoe Vale... which will once again be another great showcase for local grass roots community football. In the interim and with the junior finals now into their third and final week, we encourage all members and supporters to continue to get behind the club and the players for the remainder of this year's senior campaign and join together in this important passage in time.  We look forward to the challenge and of seeing you all there at our games!

* game has been rescheduled from 11am at Hadfield to this new venue and time.

Zach Hislop is surrounded by opposition players as Kyle Reimers attempts to assist by laying this great tackle during the senior match played at Clifton Park.

In 2015 we were pleased to announce that we created our own smartphone application through the Team App program! This is primarily targeted at players and officials of the senior football section who will be put into access groups for improved communication purposes but standard members are allowed to sign up to become basic supporters and to receive news and information from in and the club.  At this point event notifcations and other news commence the week of Round 1 and continue for the duration  of the season.

If you have an iPhone, iPad, iPod or Android equivalent (Samsung, HTC, Sony etc.) you can go to the App Store or Google Play and download the application to your phone. Once you have done that you must sign up to the program which is 100% free. Then, search for ABERFELDIE FOOTBALL and request access. Once approved by the Administrator - and the season begins - you will be given updates to news, fixtures, team ladders and social events applicable to the senior football section. Welcome aboard!
