SEASON 2017 Continues... Round 12 v Avondale Heights

In what is sure to be seen in retrospect as an upset game for the opposition, Aberfeldie dashed the four match winning streak of new Avondale Heghts Coach Donald McDonald in the senior match when we traveled down to Canning Street Reserve for the Round 12 matches.  All four senior teams recorded wins including the Reserve Thirds against Essendon Doutta Stars at Clifton Park whilst the Under 19s, well undermanned due to the school holidays, had an emphatic win over the Heights with Captain Mark Gregory celebrating his 150th game.

The Reserves also recorded a strong win and in the senior match Abers defeated Avondale Heights to the tune of 67 points.  Best on ground player was Zach Hislop who booted 4 goals, with Captain Luke Davis and Luke Blackwell both notching up their 50th game for the club - well done boys and congratulations!

This past Saturday June 15th the Thirds hosted Greenvale at home and in what was highly spirited game lost by only seven points. After a week off for the Premier Divison bye we will play host to Craigieburn at home at Clifton Park on July 22nd.  In the interim we encourage all members and supporters to continue to get behind the club and the players for the remainder of this year's campaign and join together in this important passage in time.  We look forward to the challenge and of seeing you all there at our games!

Join our Abers Team App

In 2015 we were pleased to announce that we created our own smartphone application through the Team App program! This is primarily targeted at players and officials of the senior football section who will be put into access groups for improved communication purposes but standard members are allowed to sign up to become basic supporters and to receive news and information from in and the club.  At this point event notifcations and other news commence the week of Round 1 and continue for the duration  of the season.

If you have an iPhone, iPad, iPod or Android equivalent (Samsung, HTC, Sony etc.) you can go to the App Store or Google Play and download the application to your phone. Once you have done that you must sign up to the program which is 100% free. Then, search for ABERFELDIE FOOTBALL and request access. Once approved by the Administrator - and the season begins - you will be given updates to news, fixtures, team ladders and social events applicable to the senior football section. Welcome aboard!
