22nd July 2017

Following on from the Senior and U19 Interleague matches in May where Abers was well represented, the AFL Victoria Metro Junior Championships kicked off this week where the League made history by fielding its first standalone girls team. On May 31st the Under 15 Youth Girls team played and won the match against the WRFL team. Well done to our own Charlotte Baskaran and Zali Friswell!

Congratulations to all other Aberfeldie Junior players who have been selected to participate in the upcoming matches:

Ryan Martin
Michael Ktona
Patrick Carracher

Sam Beer
Thomas Jackson
Luca Chillura

All players have been training hard since April and have had some fantastic sessions with their respective coaches. It's been great to see plenty of running and silky smooth ball skills at training and this will assist all players if they're selected in the final teams.

The aim of the Interleague program is to identify the best talent in our league and look to develop every individual for their future growth in the game. Teams compete in the AFL Victoria Junior Metropolitan Championships, a development series for the best available players within each of the Metropolitan Leagues with junior competitions. The target is to be competitive with the central focus being; skill development, decision making, awareness, physical development, health & wellbeing and leadership.

The remaining matches are being played over the Queen's Birthday holiday weekend (June 10th, 11th and 12th) so click here for futher information including detailed Fixtures, Results, Ladders and Team Squads:
